How many Instax cameras are there?
There are 3 different types of Instax cameras made by Fujifilm and each use a different size of film. They are:

Currently, Fujifilm offers 7 different models of Instax mini cameras, 2 models of instax square cameras, and 1 model of the instax wide camera according to Instax’s website. However, there are other models in the world not shown on their website such as the instax SQ6. Each model requires a different type of film to work properly with each camera.

Instax mini models have the most variety of films available with 18 different color and black & white films with simple, patterned, and character-themed border designs including color and black & white film. Instax Square cameras have 6 different film border designs in addition to color and black & white film types whereas Instax wide cameras only come in black & white and color film. Some of the original films such as character-based frame designs are also available in some countries but some frame designs may not be available in all countries.
What is the size of Instax film?
Instax Mini Cameras use the Instax Mini film and it’s sizes are below in inches:
- Film size: 2.13 in. (W) x 3.39 in. (H)
- Picture size: 1.81 in. (W) x 2.44 in. (H)
Instax Square Cameras use the Instax Square film and it’s sizes are below in inches:
- Film size: 3.39 in. (W) x 2.83 in. (H)
- Picture size: 2.44 in. (W) x 2.44 in. (H)
Instax Wide Cameras use the Instax Wide film and it’s sizes are below in inches:
- Film size: 4.25 in. (W) x 3.39 in. (H)

Which Stores Sell the Cheapest Instax Film?
The only film that is compatible with Instax cameras is Fujifilm instax film. Fujifilm makes the Instax camera, making it the most reliable film to purchase for your Instax camera.
Buying Instax Film Packs In Store
Some of these stores include big brand names such as Walmart, Michaels, Staples, Urban Outfitters, Best Buy, Target, and QVC. Even though each of the stores is selling the same product, the same type of film the prices can vary. For example, a pack of Instax Mini film with 20 sheets is sold at Walmart for $17.99 and at Urban Outfitters for $30. In most cases, Walmart has the most affordable Instax film on the market in the store.
However their options are limited since they mostly stock Instax Mini color film. For the more special films, like different types of Instax Mini, Square, and Wide types of Instax films I would recommend purchasing them from an online store for a better price and more options.
Buying Instax Film Packs Online
When looking to purchase online you must consider shipping prices and taxes as well. If you are looking for the cheapest online store price, Samy’s Camera often has the best deals in comparison to other big brand stores. However, shipping and handling fees from Samy’s Camera cost approximately $10 but they offer free shipping on orders over $49.
Amazon is another contender with great prices and can be less expensive if you are already a Amazon Prime member. Also, keep in mind that eligible items on Amazon ship free for orders over $25, which is much lower than Samy’s camera minimum shipping amount of $49.
